The past couple of weeks have been horrific for so many in the Los Angeles area. So many have lost so much. It's unimaginable. I am beyond grateful that our neighborhood was spared and our home suffered only minor wind damage and a 12-hour power outage. And we have rain in the forecast for the weekend!
More than a few friends and music colleagues have suffered not only the loss of their homes and all the memories contained there, but also their home studios and musical instruments. The losses are immeasurable. If you're looking for a way to help, there are many proven and well-regarded organizations, including several that help the music community in particular: musiccares.org, sonafoundation.com and sweetrelief.org. If you're in a position to donate, these organizations are doing great work.
I've been donating and volunteering, and seeing so many fundraisers, I wanted to do more, so I'm creating a fundraiser of my own. If you would like to purchase music, tee-shirts, tanks or jewelry from my store, I will donate double the amount of any purchase of music or merchandise from my store from now til the end of February 2025. So if you spend $25 at my store, I will donate $50 to fire relief, up to $2000.
I believe Los Angeles will come back from this. I know we will. Sending love and support to all who have been affected, I'll sign off with an excerpt of the lyrics from my song Resilient.
A lone voice in the desert in a thousand miles of heat
Some days you wonder how you’re standing on your feet
When you feel you’re growing weak and no one hears your cries
Remember you are here on Earth to bloom and to inspire
You won’t bow down to the crowd
When they try to cut you down
You will not be broken
You’re rising from the ground
Resilient, stronger than you know
You’re brilliant when you let your colors show
You’re a wildflower, you won’t be down for long
You’re Resilient, you’re brilliant, you’re strong

Thanks again for all your concern, your messages and thoughts and prayers.
